When not writing, Ishmael Winter (formerly Isobelle Winter) is a specialist in the obscure points of medical history and ethics. Originally from California, they’ve since attempted life in a number of other locales and have concluded that snow is garbage and road salt makes their shoes look bad. They and their spouse share their home with three cats, who are largely notable for their criminal genius. When not writing, researching, or thwarting feline supervillainy, they enjoy kayaking and woodworking.
